Pat LaFontaine scores at 8:47 of quadruple overtime against the Washington Capitals and goaltender Bob Mason in Game 7 of the 1987 Patrick Division Semifinals at Landover, MD on April 18, 1987. The final score was 3-2 and the game lasted 128:47 which today ranks as the ninth longest playoff game in NHL history. Assists on the goal went to Gord Dineen and Ken Leiter, while Dale Henry screened the goaltender. Islanders goaltender Kelly Hrudey was the star of the show, making over 70 saves.
